What schools ask about the AI curriculum.
Do pupils need to know how to code before starting?
No. Both tracks start from the basics of what AI actually is, with no coding assumed. Visual programming in Scratch begins partway through Term 2, and the secondary track adds text-based Python from that same point, building up gradually.
How is this different from pupils using ChatGPT on their own?
Using an AI tool and understanding how it works are different things. The curriculum teaches the mechanisms behind AI: how a computer learns from examples, why training data can introduce bias, how a chatbot predicts its next word. There is real classwork every week and a gated assessment at the end, not an open-ended chat.
Who writes the curriculum, and can our school change it?
Costech writes and manages every lesson, weekly quiz and certificate exam question bank centrally, so every learner follows the same programme and is held to the same standard. Schools cannot edit the curriculum; they manage their own classes, teachers and pupils.
What happens if a pupil fails the certificate exam?
They can retry: up to 3 attempts within 90 days, with 24 hours between attempts. To sit the exam at all, a pupil must have completed at least 80% of the weeks. The platform enforces that, it is not just a recommendation.
Can a certificate be faked, or checked by someone outside our school?
Every certificate carries a reference anyone can check online, with no account needed. A certificate's result is locked the moment it is issued, so it stays checkable years later, whether or not the pupil's account still exists.
What happens to a pupil's data if they leave, or if our school stops?
A certificate stays valid and verifiable. Weekly progress and quiz history are kept for 12 months for the school's records, then deleted. If a school stops using the platform, there is a 90-day grace period before deletion, and the school can export its own data first.
How much does it cost?
